We're hosting a youth training on opioid overdose prevention and awareness for ages 12-18 on Tuesday, August 26, at the Clemmons Library located at 6365 James St. Clemmons, NC.

Registration is required. You can register at https://forms.office.com/g/xMdnM1QtLG

Hannah Phillips, a substance use health educator with the county, will talk to them about the impacts of opioids, teach them harm reduction strategies to prevent overdoses and train them on how to use naloxone (also known as Narcan) if needed.

“I kind of compare it to knowing how to do CPR," Phillips said. "Knowing how to give Naloxone is a first responder skill that you hope you never have to use, but it could save someone's life if you are in that situation.”

Residents are invited to a Town Hall Meeting on Local Mental Health Crisis Services at the Health and Human Services Annex 1 Auditorium, 725 N. Highland Avenue, on Wednesday, August 7, from 6-7:30 p.m.

The town hall is being held by Forsyth County Behavioral Health Services to raise awareness about the behavioral health crisis resources available in the area and to foster open dialogue between community members and local service providers. Local providers of supports and services will be onsite to share information about their resources and to answer questions.

Attendees will have the opportunity to hear directly from experts in the field, ask questions, and learn more about how to access support during times of mental health crisis.

Panelists will include:

- Ashley Golds – Daymark Recovery Services

- Brent Motsinger – Forsyth County Mobile Integrated Health (MIH)

- Kristin Ryan – Winston-Salem Behavioral Evaluation and Response (BEAR) Team

- Marti Webb – RHA Health Services

“We want every resident to know what resources are available, how to access them, and that they are never alone in a time of crisis,” said Michael Duncan, Behavioral Health Services Director for Forsyth County.

All residents, service providers, and community stakeholders are encouraged to attend. No registration is required.

Clearing the slate and setting the tone. ✨
As a therapist and entrepreneur, I’ve learned that balance isn’t a luxury—it’s a strategy. 🧠💼

Every month won’t be packed, and that’s okay. Sometimes the best move is to pause, plan, and prioritize peace. 🗓️💛

Here’s to organizing with intention, creating space for what matters, and owning our time.
