Check out this amazing transformation that gives back to the community!!!

Brandon Pennington completed his Eagle Scout project refurbishing and updating the helipad at Traphill Fire Department in Wilkes County. He chose this project for increased visibility and to better serve those in need of emergency care. He will graduate high school in the spring of 2026 and currently plans to pursue a career in emergency medicine. Special thanks to Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist AirCare for their support.

Huge congratulations to Colton Sobolewski (pictured right) for representing our team at the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) Conference!

Colton delivered an oral presentation on his research, “Resource Use When Psychiatric Patients are Treated by Community Paramedics in a Prehospital Setting.” His talk highlighted an important shift in care: directing psychiatric patients to behavior health urgent care centers rather than automatically to the ED — and how this approach can potentially save valuable resources while improving patient care.

Also, a congratulations to Colton on becoming a base educator!

Proud to see our team members work being shared on such a big stage, and grateful for Colton’s dedication!
