hosis Philosophy:
The BUTTERFLY EFFECT, where a small change can make a BIG difference, drives the vision, mission and philosophy of this organization. We believe, individuals like that of a caterpillar, who at one time did not look like very much, limited by his/her surroundings and lifestyle on the ground, but after having gone through a process called “metamorphosis”, life changed drastically! Our mission is to utilize a holistic approach to counseling individuals who are currently in a metamorphosis and desire assistance in addressing problems and issues that cause emotional distress. We are committed to empower individuals with the necessary tools, including the word of GOD, to address the area of concern with dignity and respect. We believe individuals are capable of changing from the inside out and will successfully transitioning from one phase in their life to another with the guidance and support of a counselor. SERVICES PROVIDED:

■Christian Counseling – a collaborative effort between God, the counselor and client in hopes of identifying & addressing unresolved issues that cause emotional distress. The Christian counselor, a member of the clergy and/or a professional counselor uses the truths of the Bible in addition to a wide range of treatment modalities in a confidential, safe & nonjudgmental environment. The overall goal of the counselor is to help identify potential solutions to problems; seek to improve communication and coping skills; strengthen self-esteem; and promote behavior change. Including, but not limited to:

■Anxiety
■Depression
■Marriage, family and relationship issues
■Premarital counseling
■Substance abuse
■Codependency
■Etc.

■Substance Abuse Treatment -The disease of addiction is often progressive and fatal. If left untreated, it could manifest itself in ways that could be life changing for the individual using drugs and/or alcohol and their loved ones. In addition to counseling the Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS) will provide assessments and case management.
■S*x Offender Treatment - The s*x offender population in our community is rapidly increasing as more offenders are being released from jail and prison with treatment needs. There are very few clincians with the specific skills, knowledge, and professional certification to accurately assess and treat these offenders. We currently have a Certified S*x Offender Treatment Specialist (CSOTS) on board who is qualified to treat s*x offenders.
■Transitional Plan Development for Inmate & Ex-Offender – At present, we serve as a resource to families of individuals who are currently incarcerated and in need of assistance with developing a transitional plan for their love ones.
■Peer Counseling-Professional Peer Counselors provide a confidental voice of reason to individuals in need of help during a crisis. In addition to the services provided during the counseling experience, the peer counselor has the ability to provide experience, strength and hope to individuals by sharing their personal life experiences with the clients. The Peer Counselor functions as a fully integrated team member-providing leadership in outreach and coordination of services for the client in the community in hopes of empowering individuals to break the cycle of addicition, crime and punishment.
