Salem Chest Specialists Salem Chest Specialists is a Pulmonary Critical Care Medicine Practice serving the Winston Salem, N. Dr. Thomason is also board certified in Sleep Medicine.

Salem Chest Specialists has been serving the Winston Salem area since 1980 and has steadily grown to 14 full-time physicians and 12 mid-level practitioners. We provide diagnostic and therapeutic services for patients with disorders of the respiratory system including chronic obstructive lung disease(emphysema and bronchitis), asthma, pulmonary fibrosis, lung cancer, pulmonary hypertension, respiratory infections, and sleep apnea. We also specialize in the care of hospitalized critically ill patients. All of our physicians are board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Disease, and Critical Care Medicine. Our practice includes both outpatient and inpatient care at Forsyth Medical Center and consultive care at Medical Park Hospital. Some of the services we offer are: complete pulmonary function testing, arterial blood gas studies, chest x-ray, diagnostic and interventional bronchoscopy and sleep studies. Recently we have established a full time center to conduct clinical research studies. Hopefully these protocols will lead to significant advances in the care of patients with lung disease and sleep disorders.
