Happy World Sight Day! 👁️
Did you know that 1.2 Billion people worldwide lack access to basic vision care? Or that unaddressed vision impairment in many low-income regions is up to 4x higher than it is in high-income regions?
World Sight Day was founded by the Lions Club to spread awareness about vision care and preventable blindness. They have assisted more than 488 million people with their Sight First campaign over the last 30+ years!
Eyes on Trade partners with the Lions Club to collect gently used pairs of eyeglasses for donation. The Lions Club then sorts through and distributes these eyeglasses to optical missions around the world!
