Good news to report that we just finished with Bronson’s cancer screening, and he is still in remission!! 🥹🥹🥹
He has a surgery next week for his fistula (fingers crossed it is the last one, and it is successful) and then we are off to a kidney transplant consultation in August. This should be the beginning to his transplant journey. Unfortunately, struggles with getting Medicare along with additional coverage have taken a while to obtain. He will have many tests in the future to see if he is a candidate, and if he is: if he can have a live donor or a cadaver.
He is still suffering from neuropathy in his hands and although dialysis is better, it still leaves him feeling exhausted. He has planted a small vegetable garden and likes to putter around in it during the day to stay busy. 🙂
Looking back on my prior posts, it’s amazing to see how far he has come from such a harrowing ordeal, one that we are unfortunately still battling. He remains our forever hero and I feel fortunate for every day we have been granted with him. He is determined to get through this and get back to some sense of normalcy.
He has been trying to keep his story going, so that it doesn’t get swept under the rug and forgotten. A year to wait for some progress in all of this is such a long time, and this is proving to be harder than expected. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions to help keep his fight alive and get wider coverage for his story during this, it is appreciated and we are open to hear them.
Thank you for all of the heartfelt concern, prayers, check-ins, visits, rides to dialysis, donations and Love. We couldn’t do this without all of you. ❤️❤️❤️
