Congrats to our pharmacy student Valerie who just completed her 6 week rotation with us. She gave a great presentation yesterday on the Giacta trial and use of Actemra in giant cell arteritis. We enjoyed having her in our office and are excited to see the great things she will go on to do as a Pharmacist! 💙🧡🐊

Congratulations to our UF pharmacy student Victoria, who spent the last 6 weeks in clinic interacting with patients and learning all about the medications we use in Rheumatology. She gave a great journal club presentation on the scleroderma lung study II and a topic presentation on RA. We are so proud of her and the bright future ahead of her! 🎉💖

Our sweet pharmacy student from UF just completed her rotation with us this month and did a great job learning about Rheumatology and giving her presentation on lupus 🩷 we enjoyed having her in the office with us, she will be an awesome pharmacist!

Dr. J. Antonio Martinez is a native of Miami, Florida who has been providing Rheumatological care in Orlando and the surrounding communities since 2018. Dr. Martinez completed his BS in Biology at the University of Miami. He then obtained his Doctorate in Osteopathic Medicine from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2013. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Florida State University in 2016 while serving as their chief resident and then completed his Rheumatology Fellowship at the University of Florida in 2018. He sees a wide range of conditions including, but not limited to, SLE, RA, Psoriatic Arthritis, Ankylosing Spondylitis, Vasculitis, Scleroderma, Sjogren's Syndrome, Inflammatory Myositis, Sarcoidosis, Connective Tissue-related Pulmonary Fibrosis, Osteoarthritis, and more. Dr. Martinez is passionate about serving his patients and working as a team with each of them to reach their goals.

In his free time, Dr. Martinez enjoys Mixed Martial Arts, tabletop games, action movies, and most things considered nerdy. He is excited to have joined Lakeshore Rheumatology and provide top tier medical services to our surrounding communities. Dr. Martinez is fluent in both English and Spanish.
