Being a founding member of Clinical Pastoral Education International and having taken part in this journey toward accreditation, I am ecstatic to announce that CPEI is now accredited by the Distance Education Accrediting Commission which is a recognized accreditor of the US Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation!

Clinical Pastoral EducationInternational (CPEI) is proud to announce that it has been granted accreditation by the Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC). The accreditation renewal is scheduled for June 2027. This significant achievement marks a milestone in CPEI's commitment to providing high-quality distance education in the field of clinical pastoral education.

The DEAC, a nationally recognized accrediting agency, evaluated CPEI's programs, policies, and procedures through a comprehensive review process, which included a site visit on January 11, 2024, and a thorough examination of the institution's operations and educational offerings. The Commission's decision, based on the March 4, 2024 Chair’s Report and CPEI's April 4, 2024, response, confirms that CPEI meetsDEAC's rigorous standards for educational quality, ethical business practices, and continuous improvement.

Accreditation by DEAC serves as a reliable indicator of the value and quality of the distance education provided by CPEI. The scope of the accreditation extends to the following programs:
-Certificate in Clinical Pastoral Education
-Certificate in Supervisory Education

CPEI remains dedicated to its mission of providing top-tier clinical pastoral education to students worldwide. The accreditation by DEAC not only validates the quality of CPEI's programs but also inspires the institution to strive for even greater heights in the years to come.
