🎀 Steps for a Breast Self-Exam
1️⃣ Look — Stand in front of a mirror with your shoulders straight and your hands on your hips. Check that your breasts are their usual size, shape, and color. Look for dimpling, swelling, redness, or changes in the ni**le.
2️⃣ Raise your arms — Look for the same changes while your arms are lifted.
3️⃣ Check for fluid — Gently see if any fluid (watery, milky, yellow, or bloody) comes out of either ni**le.
4️⃣ Feel while lying down — Use your right hand to feel your left breast and vice versa. Use the pads of your fingers in small circles, moving from the outer area toward the ni**le. Cover the entire breast from top to bottom and side to side.
5️⃣ Feel while standing or in the shower — Many find it easier when the skin is wet and slippery. Use the same circular motions to feel for any lumps or thickened areas.
💗 If you notice any new lump, pain, or change, don’t wait — contact your healthcare provider right away. Early detection saves lives. Make you mammogram appointment.
