World Pneumonia Day on November 12 annually aims to raise awareness about the seriousness of this lung infection and prevent its spread, especially for those over the age 65 or those with existing respiratory conditions who are at most risk of serious complications from pneumonia. Daylight savings comes to an end at 2 a.m. on November 2! Less daylight can feel tough during the fall and winter months, but you can help your body and family adjust! Try these tips:
• If they don’t adjust automatically (like your phone’s time), set your clocks back before bed on the night of November 1.
• Stick to your and your kids’ usual nighttime routine to minimize the effects of the time change on your body’s rhythm
• Cut back on screens before bed for higher quality sleep
• Avoid late-night snacks, caffeine, and alcohol close to bedtime
• Take a 20-30-minute nap if you need it!
