Happy 8th Birthday Releve Sports Medicine! Every year, our gratitude for our patients, our team, and our community expands. We are grateful for the opportunities to expand: bring on another provider and add our second location in Lakeland. We are looking forward to another great year helping our patients achieve their highest potential!

We love teaching! Having students and residents on our team helps to keep us up to date in evidenced based medicine. We loved having Alex De Roos, a pre-med student at USF who is a passionate advocate on sports concussions, retired ballerina, and current Miss Tampa, complete a sports medicine rotation with Dr. Michelle Henne and Dr. Saundra Holseth. We were proud to recommend her to doing more clinical shadowing at the USF Concussion clinic, now that she’s back to school.

We will be open on Monday, September 1 for all those children and teachers who are looking for perfect school attendance! We have exciting news!! We have officially opened our Lakeland location on S Florida Ave! At this time, Dr. Henne will be there on Wednesdays and Fridays from 8-5 to take care of all of your sports medicine needs. Our Winter Haven location will continue to remain open Monday through Friday from 8-5. We are so excited to expand our services to Lakeland and the surrounding communities. Heat illness is one of the most preventable medical emergencies in athletes. The wet bulb globe temperature is the gold standard for measuring the overall impact of heat on the body. It encompasses the temperature, humidity, and wind speed. As I am sure, you are aware, it is hot outside. However, what you may not know, is that it is dangerously hot with a high risk of heat illness. Monitor the wet bulb globe temperature at your practice site, and follow the Florida High School Athletic Association’s recommendations regarding water breaks, equipment, and rest from outdoor activities.

For our team at Releve Sports Medicine, improving Drs. Michelle Henne and Saundra Holseth’s patient outcomes is our goal.
