Since 1999, WeCare of Central Florida has been Polk County’s only Specialty Referral Provider Network for uninsured adults who do not qualify for Medicaid or Medicare. Many of our patients live below the federal poverty line, making our services essential for managing severe health conditions.

We collaborate with local free clinics and rely on volunteer medical professionals to provide necessary specialty care. Currently, nearly 100 patients are on our waiting list, highlighting the ongoing demand for our services.

To expand our reach and service offerings, we invite you to join our Volunteer Health Care Provider Program (VHCPP). You may participate by:

• Seeing one or two patients per month.
• Selecting referrals based on your expertise.
• Assessing the need for additional diagnostics, coordinated by WeCare.
• Ensuring patients have a primary care provider for comprehensive care.

Since 1999, WeCare of Central Florida has been Polk County’s only Specialty Referral Provider Network for uninsured adults who don’t qualify for Medicaid or Medicare. Many of our patients live below the federal poverty line and lack access to affordable health insurance, making our services essential for managing severe health conditions.

We partner with local free clinics and rely on volunteer medical professionals to provide life-changing specialty care. Despite our efforts, nearly 100 patients are still on our waitlist, highlighting the ongoing need for our services.

We seek to expand our volunteer base to reach more individuals and offer a wider range of specialties. Join our Volunteer Health Care Provider Program (VHCPP) and choose how you can participate:

Ever feel exhausted despite getting enough sleep? Here’s the truth: sleep and rest are not the same. Many of us suffer from a rest deficit because we overlook the various types of rest we need.

Adapted from TED’s “How to Be a Better Human” series, offering valuable advice. Rest should restore us in seven areas:

1. **Physical Rest**: This includes passive rest (sleep and naps) and active rest (activities like yoga and stretching).

2. **Mental Rest**: If you struggle to focus or turn off your thoughts at night, schedule short breaks every couple of hours to recharge.

3. **Sensory Rest**: Overstimulation from screens and noise can overwhelm us. Take moments for sensory deprivation, like closing your eyes or unplugging from electronics.

4. **Creative Rest**: Inspired by nature and art, this type of rest reawakens our creativity. Surround yourself with inspiring visuals to stimulate innovative thinking.

5. **Emotional Rest**: Allow yourself to express feelings and avoid people-pleasing. Authenticity is crucial; share how you really feel with others.

6. **Social Rest**: Choose uplifting relationships that revive you, both in person and virtually.

7. **Spiritual Rest**: Connect beyond the physical and mental through activities like prayer or community involvement.

Sleep alone won’t restore us completely. Focus on getting the right types of rest to truly feel rejuvenated.

Since 1999, WeCare of Central Florida has been Polk County’s only Specialty Referral Provider Network dedicated to serving uninsured adults who don’t qualify for Medicaid or Medicare.

We offer FREE access to:
✅ Diagnostics
✅ Labs
✅ Vision and Optical Services (including eyeglasses)
✅ Breast Care Services
✅ Durable Medical Supplies

Our patients are hardworking individuals living below the poverty line, often employed by businesses that do not offer affordable insurance options. They are facing severe and chronic health issues without access to the specialty care they urgently need.
