On Friday, April 3, 2026, our office will be closed to observe Good Friday and will reopen on Monday, April 6, 2026, at 8:30 AM.

Founded in 1998 by the Polk County Medical Association, WeCare of Central Florida is dedicated to enhancing access to vital specialty healthcare services, labs, diagnostics, and procedures for low-income, uninsured residents of Polk County.

Our services, including mammograms, diagnostic breast care, and eye health and vision care, are designed to empower individuals on their health journeys. We also provide FREE on-demand transportation via Uber Health to ensure you can reach any healthcare appointment in Polk County and offer access to durable medical equipment at no cost.

Together, we are creating a healthier community for all.

On March 31 and April 1, 2026, WeCare of Central Florida provided information about specialty healthcare services to uninsured residents of Polk County at the 'Adopt-a-Block-Lakeland' Food Pantries, which were held at Legacy Christian Church and Christ Lutheran Church.

These community events benefited 108 community members, who received information packets and, for many, free reading glasses. Additionally, both food pantries offered warm meals, clothing, and toys for children, bringing hope to those in need.

We Care of Central Florida, through Project New Sight, raises awareness of eye care by providing free access to essential eye health and vision services. This initiative aims to enhance human potential and improve the quality of life.

We Care also supports individuals in continuing their treatment after an abnormal finding or diagnosis. This includes assistance with glaucoma treatments and cataract surgeries, as well as providing eyeglasses for those in need.

Project New Sight serves uninsured residents of Polk County with limited incomes, ensuring everyone has the opportunity for a brighter future.
