We admit it: It feels good to read to babies. It's also key to brain development to all babies, especially those who spend their first moments of their lives in a neonatal ICU. We're pleased to be a part of the annual NICU read-a-thon and taking part in a friendly competition where we all win! 💙

BayCare is building a new freestanding emergency department in Davenport, and its primary affiliation will be with Winter Haven Hospital. It's all part of BayCare's commitment to expand access to its clinically excellent emergency care. Learn more here:

BayCare will provide expanded access to emergency care to communities in eastern Polk County with its new freestanding emergency department, which will be constructed along U.S. Highway 27 in Davenport.

We're grateful to have wonderful nurses on our team, such as Alyssa, who was recognized with a DAISY award. She was nominated by one of her medical/surgical ICU team members, who said of her: "Recently, Alyssa cared for a patient who went from living a full life with his wife and three children to being hospitalized and unable to move. Alyssa immediately expressed a strong desire to care for him. She worked eight consecutive days to ensure continuity and that the patient and his family fully understood his condition and what to expect. Alyssa’s approach brought immense comfort to the patient and his family. Before his discharge, he mentioned wanting a Dr. Pepper, a simple wish that became a meaningful moment. Since he was unable to drink due to his condition, Alyssa found a way to make it happen—she used a mouth swab to give him the taste of Dr. Pepper, bringing him a small but significant moment of joy. Her kindness and dedication left a lasting impact on both him and his family." Thank you, Alyssa! 💙
