Last weekend, we gathered for our 2nd Annual Caregiver Celebration - a special night to honor the heart and soul of what we do.

Each year, we present the Ethan Garza Lighthouse Award and a $5,000 check to our Caregiver of the Year. This year’s honor went to the incredible Gladys Tineo Almanzar.

Choosing just one caregiver is never easy - we’re blessed with hundreds of extraordinary nurses - but Gladys truly embodies what this award stands for. For the past two years, she has worked six nights a week, building an unbreakable bond with her patient, Deborah. Gladys is a beacon to her patient, to Deborah’s family, and to all of us at ACS.

Gladys - you are the lighthouse, guiding with compassion, commitment, and love. We are all better because of you. 💙

Did you know that Sunshine Health has a School Coordinator in every region to help families work with their local school districts? These coordinators can support you in understanding your child’s rights, navigating the IEP (Individualized Education Plan) process, and making sure your child gets the education they deserve.

If your child is having trouble getting the support they need at school, or you just don’t know where to start, reach out to us! We’ll connect you with the right Sunshine School Coordinator to guide you through the process.

And don’t forget - If your child needs a 1:1 school nurse as part of their IEP, we can help! We’re approved vendors in many counties, with UCP, and we’re happy to walk you through what’s possible.

EVERY CHILD HAS THE RIGHT TO AN EDUCATION - and we’re here to help make that happen.
