What Many Parents Wish They Knew Earlier….

🤱 Tongue ties aren’t just a feeding issue in infancy—they can influence health well into childhood and adulthood.

😮‍💨 Restricted tongue movement often contributes to mouth breathing and a narrowed airway, which has been linked to increased cardiovascular strain over time.

🦠 Inefficient swallowing and chronic mouth breathing can disrupt the oral environment, potentially affecting digestion and the balance of the gut microbiome.

😴 When the tongue rests low in the mouth and lips remain open, snoring and sleep-disordered breathing, including sleep apnea, become more likely.

🧠 Poor-quality sleep doesn’t just affect energy levels—lack of deep restorative REM sleep has been associated with challenges like attention difficulties and anxiety.

🧩 Because the tongue plays a major role in guiding facial growth, restrictions can contribute to recessed jaws, elongated facial patterns, and facial asymmetry.

🦷 A high, narrow palate may also lead to crowded or misaligned teeth and increase the risk of orthodontic relapse.
