đď¸ Grief Feels Like a Snow Globe đď¸
Right now, the world feels heavy.
In the wake of recent unimaginable heartbreaking events â and on the anniversary of 9/11 â many of us are holding deep grief, sadness, and emotional overwhelm. Whether the loss is personal, collective, or both, itâs valid. Youâre not alone in it.
We often use the image of a snow globe to describe grief. When shaken, everything inside swirls into chaos. Nothing is clear. It can feel like too much. But over time â and with care â the storm settles, and you can begin to see again.
If your snow globe feels shaken today, here are some gentle ways to care for yourself:
⨠Place your hand over your heart. Acknowledge your pain. Say, âThis is hard. And Iâm allowed to feel this.â
⨠Soothing touch. Rub your arms, hug a pillow, or massage your feet or scalp â self-touch activates the parasympathetic nervous system and tells your body youâre safe.
⨠Ground through your senses.
* Light a calming candle.
* Sip warm tea slowly.
* Wrap yourself in a soft blanket.â¨These small things matter in grief. They anchor you to the present moment.
⨠Breathe with intention.â¨Try: Inhale for 4 â Hold for 4 â Exhale for 6.â¨Let your body know itâs okay to soften, even for a breath.
⨠Cry. Or donât. Both are okay. Thereâs no wrong way to grieve.
đż If youâre feeling overwhelmed and donât know where to start â weâre here. Whether itâs a quiet space to rest, someone to talk to, or trusted mental health resources, we can help point you in the right direction.
You donât have to carry this alone.
đ Be gentle with yourself today. Youâre doing your best.
