The holidays may be over, but the emotions can linger.

Post-holiday blues can look like low energy, sadness, anxiety, or feeling off as routines shift.
This is a normal response to change — and support can help you feel grounded again.
You don’t have to carry it alone. 💛

Today, we pause in gratitude for the brave men and women who have served our country with courage and sacrifice. At Open Doors Counseling Center, we honor not only their service but also their hearts - their grief, pain, courage and hope.

Back-to-school season is here, and we want to thank all the incredible teachers for the love and dedication you pour into your students. 🍎✨ Remember—your well-being matters too. Take time for self-care, you deserve it! 💛

Some self-care ideas:

🧘‍♀️ Mindful moments – even 5 minutes of deep breathing or meditation between classes.
🚶‍♂️ Movement breaks – short walks, stretching, or chair yoga during planning periods.
📖 Personal reading – something fun and unrelated to teaching.
💤 Protect your rest – set boundaries for grading/planning to allow enough sleep.
🎶 Unwind with music – play a favorite playlist on the drive home.
📅 Set work-life boundaries – designate “no school talk” times at home.
🍎 Healthy snacks handy – keep nourishing snacks in your desk for energy.
🤝 Lean on support – connect with fellow teachers or a counselor when feeling overwhelmed.
🌿 Do something joyful – gardening, painting, journaling, or any hobby that recharges you.
