Lotus Acupuncture

Lotus Acupuncture As in many oriental medicine practices, the emphasis of acupuncture is on prevention. Acupuncture enables you to live a long, healthy life.

The founder of Lotus Acupuncture, Dr. Thoa Ho has always been interested in the effects of Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture. She benefited from the power of Chinese Medicine when she was growing up in a traditional Vietnamese family. Dr. Thoa Ho comes from a family with generations of doctors in both Western Medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine. Her father served as an oriental physician (medicine man) and her ancestors were acupuncturist and herbologist. Her goal since her early childhood has been to relieve human beings from the suffering of disease and issues like infertility, Heart Stroke, Pregnancy, Anxiety, Weight Loss etc. and in turn she had originally chosen to pursue a chemistry career at Florida. She received her Masters in Oriental Medicine as well as a Bachelor of Health Sciences at Texas College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Austin, Texas. Dr. Thoa worked with her sister, Dr. Su Ho, at Elements Wellness Center in Tampa. During her time there, she traveled back to Texas for Acupuncture- Oncology training at MD Anderson in Houston. She became more and more attracted to the philosophy of Chinese Medicine: maintaining health while still being healthy and relieving bodily imbalances as early as possible. This led to her belief that the practices of both Chinese and Western Medicine should grow to recognize one another, She help build the bridge by working for the Integrative Department at Florida Cancer and Specialist Research Institution. Dr. Thoa soon realized the positive results from patients suffering with Chemotherapy side effects (ie nausea, dry mouth, etc). After working with FCS and finding that there are no definitive treatments in existence for Chemo induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN), she wanted to research more about CIPN. This curiosity led to her doctoral research program at Texas Health and Science University in Austin, Texas. She resides in Orlando for her research in CIPN and the majority of the didactic work will be completed in Texas. She plans to present her dissertation for the Texas school boards in June 2016 following the completion of her doctoral program. Dr. Thoa also specializes in infertility. She worked along side with the Reproductive Group in Tampa to help those who are going through various Assisted reproductive technologies (ART) such as but not limited to in vitro fertilization, and intrauterine insemination. She also help couple who want to conceive naturally. Dr. Thoa is nationally board by National Certification Committee on Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and certified Doctor of Oriental Medicine, and a Licensed Acupuncturist in Florida.

🚨 Knee Pain 🚨
When your knee aches, day after day, you can’t walk easily. Climbing up and down stairs is a challenge. Pain wakes you up at night. It’s always on your mind.

Surgery, pervious knee injury/accidents causes pain, inflammation and stiffness, making it hard to flex and extend your knee.

🦵🏾🦵🏾No two patients are treated alike

📍Acupuncture is one of the treatments recommended for knee pain in national guidelines for physicians.

📍Acupuncture involves inserting hair-thin needles into the body to promote pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory effects. Patients with knee arthritis respond particularly well to electro-acupuncture. When knee arthritis is mild or moderate, a limited number of sessions produce very good results. When arthritis is more advanced, or “bone-on-bone,” ongoing acupuncture is needed.

📍Acupuncture can also be combined with conventional treatments, such as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, physical therapy and/or injections.

In addition, acupuncture can provide pain relief until knee replacement surgery is performed.

⁉️Did you know that your health insurance covers your acupuncture treatments⁉️

📂More health insurance plans are covering acupuncture to treat chronic pain and other symptoms.

📁Acupuncture has come a long way since it was first introduced in the United States. Today, it’s an alternative health care treatment that’s often integrated with traditional medical care.

📁Medical professionals may prescribe acupuncture to treat a variety of symptoms. It’s popular among people who have chronic back, neck or knee pain. Acupuncture can also help prevent nausea associated with chemotherapy and surgery.
