What you can’t see in this picture is what my body and spirit had just endured. Five hours earlier, I woke up with my face severely swollen unrecognizable even to me.
My family moved in love and urgency: Whitney grabbed Benadryl, my mom started packing a hospital bag, my sister pressed ice to my skin, my niece started praying and together we prayed while I waited… uncertain, humbled, and still. Within 30 minutes, the swelling began to ease, but the lesson had already landed for me.
When you’re called to carry vision, you must also be prepared for the unseen weight that comes with it. The emotional, physical, and spiritual warfare that shows up without warning. This moment reminded me that healing isn’t just what happens after the battle, it’s how you hold yourself during it. How you choose calm when your body panics. How you surrender when control slips away.
Even swollen, I remembered who I was, and whose I was. Purpose didn’t pause. It just required me to "BREATHE", trust, and let my village hold me. ❤️
