Have you already started receiving all of the mailers to remind you about ? There’s a new one in my mailbox daily. Here’s a tip from an IBCLC: Check the details of the benefit packages they are offering. I know the prices are going up (as they have done yearly) if you’re pregnant or lactating you’ll want to review what lactation coverage you have, providers in-network in your area and if you don’t have anyone in-network you’ll want to know if you have out of network coverage. Anyone remember when co-pays were less than $40 or even $0?

You might be coming out of your Newborn Haze and itching for a coffee shop afternoon, brunch with your people or even a date night with your new little person in tow. Join us this Thursday for Milk & Cookies “You Bring the Milk, We’ll Bring the Cookies” You don’t have to be a current or past client to join us. You don’t have to be all in with breastfeeding. You just have to be a parent open to receiving and building support.

Does your babies latch look like that? Are they facing you belly to belly? When trying to latch are you leading babies chin to the breast? When the latch doesn’t feel good these are some of the things I’m looking for when observing you and baby feed. Sometimes it’s as simple as a positional adjustment. If you’re questioning if it’s a good latch, or if it doesn’t feel good. I can help with that. How long did it take you and baby to figure out latching?

Big Insurance Coverage Changes for BCBS Clients & The Lactation Network

Effective July 14th The Lactation Network will no longer be accepting out of network plans which include Blue Cross Blue Shield.

*If you’re currently approved you’ll be able to use your remaining visits.

After July 14th if you have BCBS has a provider you’ll have to be self pay and issued a Superbill to submit for reimbursement to BCBS.

Call BCBS ask them why they won’t allow IBCLC’s in-network?

File a complaint against your insurance provider.
