At Watercrest, support for the arts is not just something we talk about, but rather what we seek out and appreciate. 🖼️

Our residents recently attended Yom HaShoah Commemoration at the Holocaust Memorial Resource and Education Center of Florida, visited the Winter Park Paint Out at the Albin Polasek Museum & Sculpture Gardens, experienced American Mosaic at the Crealdé School of Art, and enjoyed a performance of The Pin-Up Girls at Orlando Shakes.

Opportunities like these matter because they keep residents connected to history, creativity, music, theater, and the kind of cultural experiences that continue to enrich daily life!

It is not every brunch that comes with a mermaid, but Watercrest Winter Park's "Blossom Bash" was clearly aiming higher! Mermaid Aviva brought the fun, and the afternoon landed somewhere between spring celebration and storybook surprise.

With help from our directors, the event came together swimmingly. Safe to say, this brunch made a few waves! 🧜‍♀️🌸

We are honored to share that Watercrest Winter Park has been recognized by U.S. News and World Report for 2026 with a “Best” status in Memory Care.

This recognition means a great deal because it is based on the experiences and feedback of the people who know our community best, our residents and their families! ⭐

Great Place To Work week really was one of those times where something was happening every hour on the hour!

Our residents headed out to Francesco’s for lunch, took part in a 2K benefiting a local senior care charity, and proudly received medals for their victory laps. There was director-led karaoke with a fun surprise when Patrick from our home office team stepped in for a Frank Sinatra favorite. Plus, Friday happy hour with Kevin Kress kept the music going!

Along the way, Watercrest's residents enjoyed a visit to the Orlando Museum of Art for "Art in Bloom," beautiful soundscape listening with harpist Verlon Eason and guitarist Noah Charles, and a Blossom Bash Brunch that ended the week poolside with Mermaid Aviva.

One of our memory care residents said it felt "like being at a resort," which we think was a pretty perfect way to describe it. 🌸

Good Friday held both joy and reverence at Watercrest Winter Park! There were woven throughout the day, alongside time to pause and reflect on the meaning of Good Friday, the sacrifice that was made, and the hope, peace, and love that still meet us there. Our residents spent time moving and singing with each other, which gave the day a rhythm that felt so grounding. 🌅

We are especially grateful for the guests who helped shape the experience, like Dancing with Jesse's Crew, Mindy and Milo, Ian the Anonmoly, including Tai Chi Master Tony Garcia and Hall of Fame gospel artist Dave Hart! Their presence added something very special.

Our "Pampering Day Spa" gave Watercrest residents the perfect day! The room was set with flowers, soft music, and aromatherapy...

The group moved through sea salt scrubs, oils and lotions for hands and feet, then facials, foot spas, and chair massages with Giovanni, our massage therapist for the day. Volunteers from VITAS Healthcare, PAM Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Jupiter, and MobileMed Mobile Medical Care joined our directors in making the experience feel special from start to finish.

The day did not stop there! Our residents also spent time with Studio Agnew making bookmarks, while Chef Kevin kept refreshments, mocktails, and tropical smoothies coming. For some, it was the first massage or spa-style experience they had ever had, which made the reaction at the end even better.

More than one resident said she felt like a brand-new woman, and to us, that says it all. 💆‍♀️💙

Elvis was in the building at Watercrest Winter Park, and our sock hop had the soundtrack to prove it! “Hound Dog,” “Jailhouse Rock,” and “Blue Suede Shoes” brought plenty of energy to the evening. A birthday serenade for 100-year-old Mary P. added an extra sweet touch, and the Pink Ladies joining in as backup singers made it even better. Add in milkshakes, diner favorites, and a full room at Watercrest Metro Diner, and this sock hop had style all its own. 🎤🥤

Turning 100 deserves a real celebration, and Mary’s day was full of moments she clearly loved. She was moved by the number of people who came to honor her and was amused to find out she was born the same year as Marilyn Monroe. 🎈🎂

With family and friends gathered, the Mayor of Winter Park was there to recognize her, 100 balloons were released in her honor, and even a little chair volleyball with Marley in the mix, Mary’s birthday felt every bit as big as it should have.
