Great representation of lack of left hip internal rotation that is limited enough to see in a rested standing position.
If the left knee aims out at rest, imagine the influence it has on the back, hips, ankle, and neck when sitting, exercising, lifting, etc.
If your body is unable to rest in neutral, it certainly won’t feel great to exert!

Restoring mobility that hasn’t been present for years also requires adapting movement patterns that incorporates using the gained mobility.
If we make gains into your limited side, resuming your usual rest positions and movement patterns will simply revert you back to being stuck.
If you wonder why relief is temporary, ask if you’re aware of your habits and patterns and if they’ve changed.

Symmetry is a huge missing commodity of the body. If you test the few positions per this video, can you claim you have equal mobility to each side WITHOUT cheating?
It is the cheating past your true amount of mobility, repeatedly, that leads to the compensatory drifts of your body. These drifts (that have been sn*******ng over the years) are what leads you to feel the slow progression of your pain. Then, it becomes chronic over time; not because of aging.

Chronic plantar fasciitis, neuromas, tendonitis, etc. of the foot?
Your pelvis/hips determine how it ‘screws’ your leg and foot into the ground.
Intervening only at the foot/ankle is usually insufficient because it will continually adapt from above.

Dos your pillow make up the difference between your shoulder and neck?
If not, your head will be tilting this much (or a bit less if using a thin pillow)!
Over time, this can lend to: cervicogenic headaches, cervicogenic dizziness, TMJ issues, facial pain (in areas of the trigeminal nerve), etc.
The above would manifest as worse if you slept on the same side night after night because the tilt wouldn’t get enough of a break to go the other way.

Mobility band assistance at the hip, and for balance, works a little differently than with squat, lunge, and dead lift.
If you struggle with single leg exercise and you think it’s purely due to declining balance, give this a try for about a month and I think you’ll see a difference!

The median nerve!
If you’re going to feel nerve symptoms down an arm, it is usually this nerve!
It is also the one associated with carpal tunnel.
Here are a few ways to provide an environment of space for that nerve that you can do anywhere.

We are multiplanar creatures! And our bodies shift in each of those planes to compensate for lost mobility so we can keep moving how we need every day.
It’s not old age that decides we have aches, pains, and stiffness. It’s the progressive shift into those cheat patterns; the further tightening into those cheat patterns that dictate our aches, pains, stiffness! Don’t give in to the brainwashing that’s it’s simply due to age!

Gains in hip mobility need third party, manual intervention to apply the force necessary to restore the mechanics you’ve been steadily and consistently losing over the years.
Restoring what’s lost in an hour session is maybe like reversing three months of your slow shift years prior — which is why it appears so abrupt.
Following up with mobility band work and lifestyle changes can keep you on a new path from having the limitations recur.
Main thing is to understand that it’s not “just the way it is” and you do not “just have to live with it”.

(Too good of a shirt not to post!)
You don’t feel it in your hips as you start to lose motion. It’s still rare to feel it in your hips as that loss progresses.
It begins as having a “tighter side” or a “weaker side” (as if that should be the accepted norm). As your asymmetrical loss progresses, you feel more back pain, SIJoint pain, knee pain, etc.
I put much needed emphasis on the hips and innominates because it’s the literal seat of where your cheats stem from. Those cheats develop into your pain.
