I help adults, families and teens develop skills to handle major life changes and hardships. I am the founder and owner of my private mental health practice.
I received my Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Central Florida in Psychology and a minor in Sociology with a special focus in Womenβs Studies. I also hold a Master of Arts degree from the University of Central Florida in Mental Health Counseling and am licensed (MH12177) by the Florida Department of Health to provide psychotherapy services. Prior to becoming a therapist, I became a Certified Personal Trainer. I pursued both of these paths due to my passion for wanting to help people overcome barriers in their life that derive from physical health and mental health challenges. I provide mental health counseling services from a holistic perspective.

I was inspired at an early age to help people navigate challenging life problems. Eventually, I decided that a great way to help people achieve happiness was to be healthy through physical fitness. So, I earned a certification as a personal trainer. However, I saw that there were deeper issues that block people from making lasting changes to improve their quality of life. I believe that we need to make changes in how we think before we can change our behaviors, so I changed my career path to become a counselor so that I could help people in my community live more fulfilling lives.
As a counselor, I am passionate about helping people see their full growth potential and understanding the importance of the mind-body connection. This means our thougthts and emotions directly affect the way we behave and how our body functions. My integrative approach includes all aspects of wellness to achieve balance and wellbeing, both mentally and physically.
I created Sivana Counseling with the vision of providing support to people by enabling them to build confidence, manage stress and anxiety, develop healthy coping skills, and heal from traumatic experiences. Together, I help my clients reach their goals by offering not only my skills as a therapist, but also with unconditional acceptance and emotional support. Adults, couples, and teens can develop the necessary skills to be better equipped in working through major life changes, hardships and the ability to enjoy enhanced relationships. I also enjoy working with athletes, musicians, and other performers to overcome obstacles that impede optimal athletic and creative performance.
Education and Experience
I work with a wide range of emotional issues and provide therapy for all individuals. I offer a place of safety and confidentiality in a supportive environment that is free of judgement. I welcome all individuals regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation, or sexual identity.
I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology, and then my Master of Arts degree in Mental Health Counseling, both at the University of Central Florida (go Knights!). I am a licensed mental health counselor in the State of Florida. I have 10 years of experience and extensive training with depression and anxiety, as well as issues stemming from experiences such as domestic violence, sexual assault, physical and emotional abuse, and other traumatic events. I specialize in working with both teenage and adult populations.
I have been weightlifting for over 20 years, playing tennis since childhood, practicing yoga for 15 years, doing CrossFit for 3 years and enjoying paddle boarding, biking and ballet (I'm no ballerina, it's so much fun!). I've played the violin, both electric and acoustic guitar, bass guitar, and drums. Last but not least, I'm a recreational artist and enjoy painting and drawing. Being so passionate about all of these activities and hobbies, I feel a shared insight into athletes and performers, which allows me to draw on experience and understanding when working with them. Additionally, I feel this insight enhances my comprehension of how physical health directly affects mental health and the importance of incorporating a balanced wellness routine in our lives.
How I can help...
Do you feel like youβre moving backwards sometimes and you canβt figure out how to manage your life or what to do in stressful situations? Are you discouraged because you are stuck in the same patterns in your life and relationships? Do you lack the confidence or awareness to move in new directions?
I provide a safe therapeutic environment where you are accepted just as you are, because this is where real change begins. In this positive but genuine setting, real self-exploration can occur allowing you to finally discover the root causes of repeating patterns of negativity in your life that are causing you stress, anxiety, and/or depression. These issues can cause significant interference with relationships, career or even impede athletic and creative performance. My goal is to help you finally begin working through difficult struggles in your life and overcome obstacles to reach your highest potential.
Parents:
Is it difficult to communicate with your teenager? Are you having problems trying to understand what they are struggling with? I have a high success rate in working with teens and building a collaborative relationship where they feel comfortable expressing their thoughts and feelings. I am able to connect with teens in a way that fosters trust, acceptance and support; especially teens that are resistant to talking with a counselor. My clients enjoy coming to counseling, which enables them to work through many issues that teens struggle with including self-esteem, challenging decision-making situations with peers, family conflict and even self-harm.
