We’ve been hard at work with the family business Samuelson Outfitters the last several months. Advancing to doing things a little bit more modern via our website….and back into action attending tradeshows.

Cathy and Sambo would do tradeshows frequently…and after an 18year hiatus we’ve kicked off the dust!

It is a lot of work to get to these gigs from Grand County. We wouldn’t be where we are with out Turn It Up Medias encouragement, our new lead Administrative Director Liz and the growing staff of committed individuals that literally love this lifestyle.

Be sure to order a hat online if you feel called, freshly stitched at the Lavender Elephant design studio and sealed with love from the mountains.

Stay tuned for more swag, we’re just getting started!

Having started hosting this retreat- almost a decade ago before I had children…pre-Covid, pre-marriage, pre-grief…

It’s bewildering how much I’ve learned in this span of time. The bridges crossed. The lessons learned. The immense amount of growth that happens. How we can transform if we allow it.

Reflecting on those that have ridden in to the basin with us & had their lives changed forever. Whether they were clients, friends or just helping us set up camp.

The laughter, the tears, the joy. All that’s been released to universe…all that’s been received from the stars.

So grateful to share this slice of heaven in this way. Insanely appreciative for all the generations of work before me, for my husband and my in-laws.

Looking forward to what the next generations will hold, to the memories and new friends we will make.

Feeling it all today and looking forward for a beautiful summer. 🙌🐎🌲

Gathering a list of a few FAQ to add to our program for the future. One asked recently….

“How much of the retreat is yoga based?”

The first year I offered this program, I didn’t allow attendees to eat before meditation 😅. I woke the client tents up with singing bowls and encouraged a strict diet around practice and food prayers.

Although I still teach all the various principles I’ve learned in my journey as a yoga student/teacher…I’ve integrated into the program a medley of practices over the last 10 years. AND really listen to the group.

All yoga sessions & workshops, group circles… are optional….Just like the extended trail rides, horsemanship clinics, archery workshops and wine drinking.

My biggest most proud lesson as a retreat leader, is to invite you, hold the space, and harvest the environment for you to do what you feel. Walk aside you as a guide to get in tune, to retune.

What we do know about doing yoga deep in the wilderness is that it’s powerful. There’s that.

Hope this helps you understand more of this offering I’m so overwhelmed with joy to offer. Any questions welcome!

Our horses ride in pack strings, meaning they’re comfortable in line…with and without riders. A lot like follow the leader. Because they’re used during our family’s hunting season- they’re really good at working for us. AND enjoy working for us.

We’re always so grateful for the generations of horses that have been ridden through this wilderness. It’s like they pass down the knowledge to one another and we’ll- horses are just that smart.

Give or take an attitude of a few, like our old timer Ash…she’s not a fan of being in front of a new young horse or Dunn hates not being the leader. We work with these personalities, our clients, the weather, the vibe…and always navigate safely. 🙌
