The best way to have a practice evacuation drill is to go out for ice-cream! After residents and staff were notified of the drill, we all were eager to get to the ice-cream location quickly. While most had one delicious treat from J's Cone Zone truck.....some managed to have two treats! All in all this was a deliciously delightful community event.

Can you guess what's cooking in Mom's Kitchen? Measure, mix, and cut the dogs! We are making mini, sweet, southern, corn dog muffins. When we are going through all the imporatant and meaningful steps of baking, it can trigger fond memories of a resident's own past. Memories of their time with family which provides a sense of comfort and familiarity. Often, our ladies share stories "memories", a moment for "us" caregivers to get a better glimpse of who they are. This also helps us in providing a more personal relationship.

Gather round! It's time for the drum circle in the Garden neighborhood. Masako was in perfect rhythm, not missing one beat! Our monthly Drum Circle, is not only a rhythmic activity, it can improve cognitive function, concentration, and motor skills. Best of all it improves our mood.
