Do you know what flower has surprised me the most this year? 🌼 Marigolds!

I’ve never really been a fan; last year I even planted White Swan marigolds and ended up pulling them out because I couldn’t stand them. 🙈 But this year… I really like them! I might be the only one, because I don’t see many people cutting them, but I encourage you to give them a try. Maybe they’ll surprise you too! (I’ve even grown to like their smell 😁).

The Waterford at Wisconsin Rapids had a blast celebrating Spirit week last week. It all started with Mix Match Monday, because who doesn't love wearing mismatched socks, followed by Team Spirit Tuesday, Western Wednesday, where everyone channeled their inner cowboy, Hi 5 Thursday, and wrapped up with a spook-tacular Summerween Party featuring special guest Princess Trish and friends from Building Blocks Learning Center.

Anna often dreamed of returning to her homeland of Germany. The Good Tree team saw how deeply she was connected to her German roots, so they decided to bring a piece of Germany to her. They prepared goulash and other traditional German dishes, creating a festive atmosphere filled with warmth and nostalgia. Residents and staff gathered to celebrate Anna’s heritage, sharing stories and learning more about German customs.

Autumn Glen celebrated the 70th wedding anniversary of Bill and Mary Lou this week. It was a big week for Billy, a resident of The Waterford at Mesquite. In honor of Father’s Day, the local mayor visited the community to recognize Billy as the oldest father living in Mesquite! Just a few days later, Billy celebrated his 100th birthday surrounded by family and friends. The celebration was filled with laughter and plenty of birthday cake. Billy’s milestone serves as an inspiration to everyone in the community.

John, a Magnolia Trails resident at Georgetowne Place, grew up on a farm and spent his childhood driving tractors and milking cows. He often shared these fond memories, so the team knew exactly what would make the perfect Tree of Dreams by bringing him back to the farm! With his daughter and great-grandson in tow, John was thrilled to see how things have changed and deeply grateful for the experience. Great job, team!

The Waterford at Round Rock worked with resident Becky’s daughter to give her the surprise of a lifetime by restoring their family car, a 1965 Ford Mustang. Filled with memories of family vacations and drives with her late husband, Becky’s eyes filled with tears. The moment she saw the fully restored Mustang, she was overcome with emotion and gratitude. What a beautiful gift and a reminder of cherished memories!
