Best Place to Be, Inc. is looking for a kind, caring, motivated person or family to further our vision of providing wonderful, family-style care to residents in the Wisconsin Rapids area.
Company mission:
Best Place to Be, Inc. strives to bring the “family” back into Adult Family Homes. Community is essential to live a successful adult life; Best Place to Be works diligently to get our residents integrated into the community as independently as possible, while keeping safety for the residents at the forefront. We provide “family-style” care to adults that need some support.
Job duties include, but are not limited to:

Maintain a clutter-free, clean home

Keep a peaceful atmosphere

Provide three healthy meals a day

Maintain Resident and Adult Family Home records

Properly organize medications and follow medication procedures

Provide transportation when necessary- either driving or setting up cab times

Schedule doctor appointments and coordinate transportation (whether cab, family, or taking the resident)

Keep in contact with doctors and nursing staff

Help the residents to live as independently as possible

Possible hands-on, personal care

Skills needed (training is provided):

Patience

Kindness

Organization skills

Cleanliness

Caregiver Training (will be provided) and on-going continuing education

Maintaining relationships and contact with guardians, family, doctors, nursing staff, and Best Place to Be affiliations

We have four adult family homes, which are family based living facilities. We provide 24 hour family care for the elderly, dementia, Alzheimer's, physically disabled, and mentally disabled adults. Care includes assistance with daily and personal cares, healthy meals in a family setting, assistance with diabetic needs, transportation to appointments, 7-step medication safety protocol, and a warm, loving home. Each location has private bedrooms and some have private half baths.

Helping the elderly and disabled has long run in our family. In the 1970’s our grandmother (Marie Kreeger) opened up her own home to take care people with mental health issues. During the 1980’s she saw a great need to give the elderly in our society care. As she explained it, “With the increase in population and advances in medicine there is a need like never before to provide long-term care to our seniors.” She would later own and operate what is today called “The Delaney Home” out of Pittsville, Wisconsin. In the late 1980’s Marie and her family would build a home on Pepper Avenue in Wisconsin Rapids which was built especially for the purpose of caring for elderly. It was passed down one generation to my mother (Valerie Delaney) and named “Delaney’s Elder Care”. In October of 2000 Valerie purchased a separate home and started what is today called “Best Place 2 B” to continue to care for the elderly in our society, but also to help those with mental and physical disabilities.

The Delaney Home in Pittsville was owned and operated for many years by Brian and Dawn Delaney and has been owned and operated for the last ten years by Timothy and Melissa Delaney.

The Wisconsin Rapids home known as “Delaney’s Elder Care” was sold, but still operates as a facility to help people.

Best Place 2 B was administered by Brian and Dawn Delaney for many years. Without their knowledge, love and care Best Place 2 B would not be anywhere near the top-notch facility it is today. Best Place 2 B is now owned and operated by Patrick and Kara Delaney. In 2017 Best Place 2 B expanded to a new home in Plover, Wisconsin. We look forward to serving you and your loved ones as we continue the long tradition of caring.
