Our provider spotlight for May is featuring Dr. Douglas P. Galuk, who has been serving patients at Wisconsin River Orthopaedics in Wisconsin Rapids for over 30 years.
Board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, Dr. Galuk has helped generations of patients restore movement, function, and confidence. His journey into medicine was inspired by a lifelong fascination with anatomy and the mechanics of the human body. Growing up on a farm, he developed a love for working with his hands and fixing things—skills that naturally led him to orthopaedic surgery, where he could combine mechanical problem-solving with compassionate care.
Dr. Galuk earned his medical degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School and completed his internship and orthopaedic surgery residency at University of Kansas Medical Center. He is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and remains active in several professional organizations.
What Dr. Galuk enjoys most is guiding patients from pain and uncertainty to restored function and confidence. His faith plays an important role in his approach to care, and he is committed to treating every patient with dignity, compassion, and excellence.
One of Dr. Galuk’s greatest strengths is the joy he brings to his calling. That joy fuels his dedication each day and continues a long-standing legacy of exceptional orthopaedic care in our community.
Outside of work, he enjoys snowboarding, water sports, piloting small aircraft, and participating in overseas mission trips with his family.
We are incredibly grateful for Dr. Galuk’s leadership, dedication, and the care he provides to our patients every day.
