Our Mission
We were founded with the goal of saving life and limb, and at our core, that is still our mission. Utilizing the latest protocols, training, and experience, we provide Advanced and Basic Life Support services to the citizens of the Town of Wise and Wise County. We provide education to the community including AHA and Red Cross CPR, ACLS, and Red Cross Lifeguard Courses to ensure that our citizens can help their fellow neighbor until advanced care arrives. We also encourage the prevention of illness and injury through public outreach and education to decrease the risk of death and disability.
Wise Rescue responds to over 1200 calls per year. As a non-profit, all donations received are utilized for staffing, equipment purchases, supplies, fuel, or repairs. Your tax-deductible donation helps to keep our community safe around the clock and provide high quality emergency medical services to those in need. You can view our latest financial report on our website www.wiserescue.org
We do bill for service to help offset the cost of supplies and staffing. We receive around $40,000 in town and county funding while our operating expenses are near $250,000 each year. Without billing, our agency would not be able to provide the level of service our community has come to expect. Even with billing income we still barely scrape by. Donors like you ensure we can make the equipment purchases needed to help you and yours in your time of need. These can include such items as cardiac monitors, ambulances, and routine supplies.
