Happy new year to everyone, from BG Speech Therapy! What a year it has been! 2024 was my first full year of working full time in BG Speech Therapy and I could not be more thankful 💛 I have had the opportunity to do what I love and work with so many amazing children and families! I love a good mouth model! But you know what is even more useful in my opinion… a TONGUE model to go along with it! Teaching anatomical vocabulary and locations of not only the mouth, but the separate parts of the tongue is super important in therapy dealing with speech sound disorders. Children need to know what each part of the tongue and mouth is called in order to understand cuing and placement for their target sounds. So… cue the tongue model! 👅👄🦷😁

When I was first starting BG Speech Therapy… like really first starting… like as in choosing a name starting, after choosing to go with my initials, my mom gave me a little mini bee charm with a quote card that came in the box, and this quote (minus the speech therapy part at the end) is what it said. This stayed with me and I still carry the little bee charm with me everywhere I go. This meant so much to me and was exactly the encouragement I needed when I was first starting. And it is the kind of encouragement many of my clients need when they are first starting out in speech therapy. I want to be a source of encouragement for my clients just like my mom, has always been for me! Always bee-lieve in yourself, or listen to someone else who does 😊💛🐝🤗
