PURDUE STUDENT SPOTLIGHT!
Katie Cummings – Veterinary Assistant at The Oncology Service
Katie has been a part of the Richmond team since 2013. Last August, she received an Ethos scholarship and enrolled in the Purdue/VetBloom online Veterinary Nursing Distance Learning Program. The Purdue VNDL is an AVMA accredited, science-based veterinary nursing program which leads to an Associate in Applied Science degree and represents an incredible opportunity for Ethos team members that are interested in furthering their education to become a credentialed veterinary technician.

Katie tells us: "Considering I've been in the veterinary field for over a decade, when the opportunity to get a scholarship to the Purdue VNDL program presented itself, I jumped at the chance. I have always dreamed of attending a veterinary technology distance program, but financially, it hadn't been in the cards. Purdue is pretty prestigious, and having a technician degree from Purdue is very rare in my area. For anyone thinking about applying to the program, plan ahead, and take breaks!”

Congratulations to our most recent graduates! Deseree from Atlantic Street Pet Emergency Center and Hillary from Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital are the most recent graduates of our Approved Veterinary Assistant (AVA) program! This online program includes a series of courses, recorded lectures, hands-on training, and demonstrations. Once the program is successfully completed, graduates are eligible to sit for a national credentialing exam to receive their AVA designation. Both Deseree and Hillary recently passed this exam! Ethos Veterinary Health is proud to be able to offer this program to our assistants in order to help them further their education in veterinary medicine. Congrats Deseree and Hillary, we're so proud of you!
