Microneedling, also called collagen induction therapy, is a cosmetic procedure that uses a device with tiny needles to create controlled micro-punctures in the skin, stimulating the skin’s natural healing process to boost collagen and elastin production.
How it works⤵️
A device with tiny, sterilized needles is moved across the skin, creating microscopic punctures.
These micro-injuries trigger the skin’s wound-healing response.
The body produces new collagen and elastin to repair the skin, which results in a smoother, more even texture and tone.
Microneedling can also enhance the absorption of other topical products applied to the skin.
What to expect⤵️
Procedure: The procedure typically takes 30 minutes. Numbing cream may be applied first.
During: You may experience some minor bleeding, and your skin will look flushed.
After: Redness, swelling, and a sunburned-like sensation are common and usually last for a few days. Most people can resume their normal routines within a day or two.

Stay Beautiful Medspa was founded by Wendy Vaughan, a Registered Nurse who received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Massachusetts in 1994 and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree at Regis College to become licensed as a Nurse Practitioner. She plans to use her advanced practice degree to continue to care for patients with facial aging concerns at her medical spa serving Burlington, Woburn, Reading, North Reading, Wilmington and surrounding towns in Massachusetts.
Ms. Vaughan is one of only 13 nurses in Massachusetts to have successfully fulfilled the education, practice and written examination requirements of the Plastic Surgical Nursing Board and receive national recognition as a Certified Aesthetic Nurse Specialist (CANS).
Wendy obtained her Medical Aesthetics Certifications from Dr. Russo’s Aesthetic Institute of Massachusetts. Here she received her Advanced Botox & Filler injector training certifications, as well as certifications in Platelet Rich Plasma Hair Restoration, Laser Physics & Safety, Collagen Induction – Microneedling therapy, IV Vitamin therapy and B12 injection therapy.
Ms. Vaughan is a former Clinical Instructor at The Aesthetics Institute of Massachusetts and has been a member of the American Medspa Association & Associated Skin Care Professionals Association. She has additional certifications in Advanced Skin Analysis & Dermaplaning from the Institute de Epidermie, Hydrafacial Specialist certification from the Hydrafacial Company and IPL Photofacial, Skin Tightening, Laser Facials and Laser Vein Removal certifications from Candela Medical.
Wendy has been also recognized by the Albert Einstein College of Medicine for completing the following medical aesthetics courses: Anatomical Context of Facial Aesthetics, Artistry and Technique of Facial Rejuvenation, Advanced Periorbital Rejuvenation with Dr. Ruth Tedaldi, Volbella, Perioral Rejuvenation with Dr. Vincent Bertucci, Full-day Intensive Cadaver Anatomy & Physiology Lab with Dr. Johnathan Sykes and Rejuvenation of the Lower Face: Lips to Neck with Dr. Steve Yoelin.
Ms. Vaughan has also attended the following seminars in Boston: Advanced Global Facial Rejuvenation with Dr. Deborah Sherman and Advanced Assessment and Rejuvenation with Dr. Arthur Swift. She has been recognized by Allergan Facial Aesthetics as a “Platinum Plus” Provider of Botox and Juvéderm injectables and is in the top 10% of elite injectors in the greater Boston area.
Wendy most recently completed advanced, full-day, micro-cannula training with Don Rainone, MD, also known as the Cannula King®. Training with Dr. Rainone encompassed utilizing the application of his signature CK Lift.™ The CK Lift™ is used to achieve contoured cheeks and attain jawline rejuvenation with Juvéderm dermal fillers.
