I am so grateful to each and every one of you who have supported me in countless ways in my journey — you are all my heroes!
The last month has been the hardest month of my journey — hooked up to a PICC and getting hopefully life-saving antibiotics and antifungals. But, none of the meds are doing the trick quite yet. And, it is scary and I am exhausted.
The doctors want me to rest — and I am trying. But, the reality of a chronic illness in America, with our broken systems, is that I still have to scramble and work so hard to try and make ends meet …
The support that I have received through our GoFundMe makes this fight doable — HARD, but doable …
Update 4: I have been so very remiss about updating — and for that I am so sorry. … Bree Schuette needs your support for Bree’s Relapsing Polychondritis Fight

Almost a year ago, at one of my darkest moments, I went out into the woods and hiked my first hike ~ in the snow and the cold. I would have stopped well short of the summit! I was cold and I was afraid and I was unprepared! But, a woman came up behind me and walked me up to the summit, kindly supporting me in the first step in my journey.
In that moment, I realized two things that I had always known but in my pain I had forgotten. First, I realized that there is incredible power in the ability of women to lift up and heal other women. And, second, I realized how small we are in the grand scheme of life and how beautiful and awe-inspiring the world is around us.
Since then, I have hiked the NH 48 two times ... once for myself and once to raise money for a charity that resonated with my heart. And, as I hiked, step x step and hike x hike, my heart and soul healed. The healing has not always been linear and I have had more than my fair share of hiccups. But, it has come.
As has the awe ... At least once on each and every hike, there has been a moment that has taken my breath away. Some of these awe-inspiring moments have only been captured in my mind’s eye, but other images have been captured in photos.
I hope that with these pictures, you will be able to share in some of this beauty!
