Here are some barn progress photos!

The barn portion is completed and the work continues in our indoor spaces. The offices, feed room, tack room, multipurpose space, and viewing areas all have flooring and fresh paint!

In the indoor arena, major elements are in place, including the garage doors, overhead windows, and heaters. Kickboards are currently being installed, and itโ€™s all hands on deck as we wrap up the mounting area. The wheelchair ramp is complete with pavers coming next. Soon, weโ€™ll begin installing the base and footing.

Thereโ€™s still a lot to do. All spaces need to be furnished. Next up are landscaping, hardscaping, and geogrid installation as we continue bringing the entire facility together!

This moment shows Traveler with a Veteran during our first mental health and wellness retreat back in 2016. Since then we have expanded our services and currently offer equine assisted wellness sessions with credentialed ESMHLโ€™s and licensed mental health providers who partner with our organization. Our hope is to eventually hire therapists to be a regular part of our staff team to expand these programs further.

Wishing a happy birthday to our adorable miniature horses! Dorito is 14 today and Shadow is 18 tomorrow. These two bring so much love and joy to everyone they meet.

Do you have a passion for horses and believe in the benefits they have for mental health? Do you enjoy doing some fun local fundraising? If so, please inquire about joining us as a fundraising ambassador for the Horses for Mental Health campaign this year! The month of May is Mental Health Awareness month, and we will be focusing on raising funds for this cause, which will allow us to expand our programs even further to reach as many people as we can. Through our programs, we strive to improve the mental health and wellbeing of all of our participants in partnership with our wonderful herd or horses, and we need your help to share our vision with the greater community.

Our pony trio, Shadow, Dorito, and Duke are the first to test out our sensory trail/track system. Safe to say they are loving it and having a blast!

Our sensory trail will be an outdoor experience for participants and horses to find a safe, immersive trail experience. It will also double as a track system for the horses, which provides enrichment, encourages movement and mimics the natural lifestyle of exploring and foraging for a horse.
