🦷 Important Update from Winnipesaukee Dental 🦷

Our wonderful team is experiencing a bittersweet change. After an incredible 18 years of dedicated service, our amazing hygienist, Alissa, will be resigning from our practice. We are so grateful for her years of commitment to our patients and our team. We will truly miss her warm smile and exceptional care and wish her all the very best in her future endeavors! ❀️ If you'd like to say goodbye to Alissa, please feel free to stop by the office anytime during the next month.

On a brighter note, we are thrilled to announce that our fantastic part-time hygienist, Kayla, will be stepping into a full-time role! We are so excited to have her with us all week long, providing the excellent care you've come to expect from Winnipesaukee Dental. πŸŽ‰

To ensure all our patients continue to receive timely care during this transition, we will also be temporarily adding Fridays to our hygiene schedule.

We are actively searching for another talented and compassionate hygienist to join our team and will keep you updated on our progress.

Thank you for your understanding and continued trust in Winnipesaukee Dental. We are committed to providing you with the best possible dental care.

Don't Be Fooled by Those Blue Spots on Your Lips!
Have you noticed small, bluish bumps on your lips lately? These might be venous lakes, not lip hemangiomas.

What are venous lakes?

Venous lakes are harmless collections of dilated blood vessels that appear as soft, compressible, dark blue to purple bumps. They're most common on the lips, especially the lower lip, but can also appear on the ears, face, and hands. Unlike lip hemangiomas, which are typically red and more common in children, venous lakes are more frequent in adults and tend to grow slowly over time.

Why should you see a dentist?

While venous lakes are benign, they can sometimes be mistaken for melanoma, a type of skin cancer. A dentist can properly diagnose a venous lake and discuss treatment options if you're concerned about the appearance.

Treatment for venous lakes

Venous lakes usually don't require treatment. However, if they cause discomfort or you'd prefer them removed for cosmetic reasons, a dentist can offer options like laser removal. Similar to hemangioma removal, lasers target and shrink the blood vessels.

If you have any concerns about bumps on your lips or anywhere on your face, don't hesitate to contact our office to schedule a consultation. We can help diagnose the issue and recommend the best course of treatment for you.

If you have been in recently, you noticed some big changes are happening in our office! This winter and spring we said goodbye to some amazing colleagues who retired and moved on to new positions. We’re especially sending our warmest wishes to Jennie as she begins her well-deserved retirement and Erin as she embarks on her new adventure with little people. Their contributions to our team have been invaluable, and we wish them both all the best.

We're thrilled to announce that we welcomed two dental assistants to our team. McKinly (Mac) from Alton joined us in March, and Clorissa from Belmont joined the team in May. We can't wait to introduce them to you at your next visit!

We're excited to welcome Diana to our patient coordinator role. We’re confident that Diana will provide our patients with warm and professional care that you have come to trust at our office. Heather, thank you for everything this past year. We're sending you off with love and support as you embark on this new chapter.

We also began office sharing in March with Blossom Medical Aesthetics, the office of an amazing nurse practitioner, Carrie MacDonald and our beloved Dr. Lefty. Be sure to visit their page and see all the amazing transformations they are helping their patients make at blossommedicalaethetics.com

This has been bittersweet time, but we're looking forward to this new chapter and continuing to provide the best care for our patients.
