Huggins’ vision is to be the community’s home for health and wellbeing and our mission is to empower the fulfillment of life through better health.

Huggins Hospital is a non-profit community hospital located in Wolfeboro, NH. We are the preferred provider of primary, secondary, and specialty health care services in the region. Huggins provides medical services to the region’s year-round population of 30,000 residents and approximately 120,000 seasonal residents and visitors who come from all over the world to enjoy the Lakes Region.

Update: Our Alton Family Medicine phone systems are back up and running!

11/24/25: We are experiencing some phone issues in our Alton Family Medicine office this morning. Calls are routing to our hospital main line and we are working to fix the issue as soon as possible. We will update here as soon as we have more information.

Today, we proudly honor Veterans Day and extend our deepest gratitude to our employees, family members, patients and community members who have served, are currently serving, or have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

Our flag is proudly displayed as part of the Field of Flags, located along South Main Street in Wolfeboro and at Pickering Corner. We invite you to take a moment to walk among the flags and reflect in honor of this year’s Veterans Day recognition.

Halloween Costume Contest Winners!

This year’s Halloween fun was split into two categories — Best Group Costume and Best Individual Costume!

Group Costume Winners:
- 3rd Place – Phishing (IT Department)
- 2nd Place – Golden Girls (Materials Management)
- 1st Place – Jurassic Park (Tamworth Family Medicine)

Best Individual Costume:
Congratulations to Zach, who took home the win as a Pirate!

Last week, our Huggins Hospital teams came together for the Annual Quality Fair!
Departments from across the organization showcased their quality improvement projects from the past year—highlighting innovation, collaboration and dedication to patient care.

It was a day full of great conversations, shared ideas, a little friendly competition, lots of laughter, data-driven displays, raffles and more! Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this event a success!

We are excited to announce that Huggins Hospital's Chief Medical Officer, Barry Gendron, DO, MBA, CPE, was awarded the New Hampshire Hospital Association Medical Staff Award at this year's NHHA Annual Meeting! Dr. Gendron was the recipient of the award for outstanding service to his hospital and community. Below is a snippet of Dr. Gendron's award dedication:

He champions the voices of nurses, physicians and all caregivers, fostering an environment rooted in mutual respect and accountability.
