Hello all, we have a message from Cherie, our CRSS intern!

"Hi everyone! I am a Student Intern here at Behavioral Health Alternatives.
I have a lot of reasons for celebrating Mental Health Awareness Month!
During my time here at Behavioral Health Alternatives (BHA), I will share my lived experience, as someone who has received mental health services. I am currently going to school to become a Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS). I hope to have caring relationships with all who come through the doors here at BHA. As a person who has struggled with wellness, I can offer peer support. I have worked on similar goals and followed my own treatment plan. I believe in meeting the needs of people right where they are. As a result of my experiences, I feel that I can have compassion for clients with anxieties. I can relate to those who have experienced personal trauma and can offer a supportive hand. I can empathize with those who receive mental health services. I am hopeful that my lived experience will encourage clients to make remarkable progress toward their goals and ultimately their recovery. I am proud to offer my experience and education, alongside BHA’s professional treatment team.
I am certain that my internship here at BHA will have a positive impact on myself and those with whom I am privileged to work with.
I believe that all of us are in charge of making changes in our own health and wellness and that each of us can live to our fullest potential.
Those are my personal reasons to celebrate May, Mental Health Awareness Month!

- Cherie"
