Let’s not lose sight of the fact that the practice is so much more than the poses.

Practicing yoga is about being a good person, not being super bendy.

If you’re new to yoga philosophy, a book I highly recommend that’s a really easy read is “The Yamas & Niyamas” by Deborah Adele.

I have not read the book from which this quote comes, but I absolutely adore it.

Drop an emoji below if this quote resonated!!

Exciting news for the advancement of yoga therapy.

Exciting news! IAYT has just been accepted as a stakeholder member with the U.S. National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH) Coalition for Whole Person Health.

Membership in this group represents one of the ways IAYT works collaboratively to advance the profession of yoga therapy. The NCCIH Coalition for Whole Person Health is designed to bring together patients, healthcare professionals, and researchers who are aligned on the importance of whole person care. This new initiative will provide a platform for stakeholders to connect, share insights, and discuss challenges in advancing whole person research and inter-professional collaboration.

Led by Amy Mack, CEO of The Institute for Functional Medicine, and Samantha Simmons, CEO of the Academic Consortium for Integrative Medicine & Health, the coalition will foster valuable connections through events such as scientific meetings, webinars, and roundtable discussions. Together, we’ll work to break down silos in healthcare and advance research that centers on people rather than disease.

We are delighted to be part of this coalition, and we will keep the IAYT community updated on our activities.
