Unlike many of the impressive feats shown in this movie, performing high-quality CPR is NOT impossible! Let’s address what could be improved in this scene 🤔

Here are some things we noticed in Mission Impossible III:
❌ Compressions were too fast and not deep enough
❌ This is not a situation where someone would likely receive a precordial thump
❌ The ratio of compressions to rescue breaths was incorrect

✅ She made sure the scene was safe before beginning CPR
✅ She was positioned properly over the center of the chest, with her arms straight
✅ She counted out loud to steady her rate of compressions and to keep track of rescue breaths

*15 compressions to 2 breaths is the correct ratio for two-rescuer child CPR. 30 compressions to 2 breaths is the recommended ratio for 1-rescuer child CPR.

While Arrow received glowing reviews for its action-packed sequences and dramatic storytelling, it seems to have missed the target on its CPR performance 🎯

Let’s take a look at some issues we noticed in this episode of Arrow:
❌ Compressions were too slow and not deep enough
❌ Victim was positioned too high in relation to rescuer
❌ Rescuer’s hands were not in the center of the chest

If you come across someone in cardiac arrest, remember to push hard and fast in the center of the chest, at a rate of 100-120 beats per minute and a depth of at least 2 inches!
