What do you do when a person seems not to be understanding you? Contrary to our assumptions, yelling louder does not work. Mainly because the consonants that are missing, are those P, T, S, and C hissing sounds, while yelling only amplifies the vowel sounds, so the clarifying information that makes the words understandable is still missing.
Come learn ways to effectively communicate despite hearing loss, in an interactive - experiential, live virtual, 2-hour OHA-approved cultural competence course and gain your needed cultural competence CE.
2 upcoming sessions to choose from:
Thursday, November 16th, 8am-10am PST, and
Friday, January 19th, 8am-10am PST.
These are live Zoom meetings with automated live captioning (not a webinar; you must have camera and microphone access and participate to gain CE credit).
