Movement vs Exercise - Why You're Still Stiff Even If You Work Out
You hit the gym three times a week. You're doing the work. So why do you still feel stiff, achy, and tight? Because exercise and movement aren't the same thing - and your body needs both.
Exercise is intentional - your workout, your run, your strength training session. Movement is everything else - how you sit, stand, walk, bend, and move throughout your day. If you're crushing a one-hour workout but sitting hunched over a desk for eight hours, your body is still experiencing prolonged immobility.
This lack of micro-movements throughout the day creates adhesions in your fascia, restricts blood flow, and keeps inflammation trapped in your tissues. Your muscles get tight, your joints get stiff, and suddenly that workout isn't enough to counteract the damage.
The fix? Prioritize movement all day long. Stand up every hour. Stretch while you're waiting for coffee. Walk while you take phone calls. And when your body needs extra support to restore mobility, targeted therapies can help release those stuck patterns.
