Think acupuncture is scary or fake?
As an acupuncture expert, I hear a lot of myths. Let's talk about the truth.
Myth #1: "Acupuncture is very painful."
Truth: The needles are very thin. Much thinner than the ones used for shots and blood draws. Most people feel little to no pain. Some feel a tiny pinch. Most feel relaxed. Myth #2: "It's not real medicine." Truth: Acupuncture has been used for thousands of years. Today, it is used in hospitals and clinics around the world, including places like Mayo and Cleveland Clinic. Research shows it can help with pain, stress, headaches, digestive health, fertility, and more! Myth #3: "It's not safe." Truth: When done by trained, licensed professionals, acupuncture is very safe. The needles are clean, sterile, single use. Myth #4: "It only helps with pain." Truth: Acupuncture can help with many things. This includes stress, sleep problems, digestive issues, and women's health concerns. Myth #5: "It works like magic." Truth: Acupuncture is not magic. It works by helping your body heal itself. It can improve blood flow, calm the nervous system, and lower inflammation. If your curious, ask questions. Learn from trusted professionals. Your health choices should be based on FACTS not fear.
