Upper sometimes. Lower usually not. 👁️✨
Upper eyelid blepharoplasty may be covered when the excess skin is heavy enough to interfere with vision. In those cases, documentation and testing are typically needed to show medical necessity.
Lower eyelid blepharoplasty is usually performed to improve under-eye puffiness, hollows, or contour, which is most often considered cosmetic, so coverage is not possible.
