“Consciousness is the capacity of one to know itself. Federico Faggin, the renowned physicist who has been on a mission to unite physics with spirituality, said, “Consciousness is the capacity of one to know itself” and got me thinking. We are all conscious beings, and in fact, everything in this physical stimulation is conscious. So, I thought what he said was a great reminder to continue digging deeper to know who I truly am by going past my name, my gender, my persona, and how I appear publicly and learn more about my core being. Then the genius behind designing the first commercial microprocessor said, “Consciousness comes with free will, the capacity is there, but one still has to will to know oneself.” He said that back in the year 1990, he woke up in the middle of the night, drank a glass of water, and as he closed his eyes to go back to sleep, he felt and saw a huge burst of brilliant white energy leaving his heart chakra. He shared that this was not all, the presentation came with a feeling of exceptional love and peace that he had not experienced before. At that moment, he said, his entire world turned upside down, he knew who he was, one with the universe. He has dedicated his entire life since then to finding language to describe this experience that every being is capable of experiencing. What a magical way of using one’s free will.
I have had similar experiences and find it difficult as well to express the totality of them with words. Words belong to the physical world and they fail to convey the essence of a spiritual vision. I can recall and say, “The spirit showed me the archetypal image of a man with all its cells, organs, and parts exposed, and told me that this is the original man, Adam if you will, and every one of you is connected to it.” I could say that and add that I have been connecting to it to heal my body since then and you can too. But, in a time where the exercise of free will is rare and the willingness to surrender to outside authorities to restore our prosperity, who cares about the promotion of restoring one’s autonomy? I ask myself this question often and soon after, just before the doubt takes over, I get a call, “Hi, I read your book and I am wondering if you have any openings.” Then I remember, the capacity is there and the willingness will come in divine timing.
