Gentle belly birth;
What it entails and how you can advocate for one if needed ✨

When having a belly birth, parents can ask to see their baby being born through a clear vale. First, they clip on a blue vale followed by the clear one.

After getting through the layers in your belly and baby will be getting pulled out, they drop the blue vale allowing you to see your baby.

Shortly after, your partner or doula with permission, can bring baby to mom to do skin to skin.

You can ask your OB for this if a belly birth is needed.

Note that every birth is different. Belly births are only needed if medically necessary.

Medical intervention may look like baby’s heart rate dropping and being in distress after a long period of labor etc.
