Introducing… Remote Patient Monitoring

Remote patient monitoring (RPM) is a telehealth method that uses digital devices to collect and record a patient’s health data outside of a traditional healthcare setting. This data can include vital signs, weight, and blood pressure. RPM allows patients and providers to manage chronic and acute conditions by sharing and collecting health information.

Benefits of RPM include:

Improved patient engagement: Patients can access their own data to understand treatment impact and advocate for their needs.

Timely treatment: Care teams can manage chronic conditions based on data collected over time.

Reduced hospital readmissions: Providers can intervene more quickly when health conditions worsen

Introducing… RPM!

REMOTE PATIENT MONITORING

- a telehealth method that uses monitoring digital devices (blood pressure, weighing scale, glucometer, etc) to collect and record a patient's health data AT HOME or anywhere outside the doctor’s clinic.

BENEFITS:

• Improved patient engagement: Patients can access their own data to understand treatment impact and advocate for their needs.

• Timely treatment: Care teams can manage chronic conditions based on data collected over time.

• Reduced hospital readmissions: Providers can intervene more quickly when health conditions worsen.

With emphasis, this will solve the common issue of having falsely elevated BP reading due to “white coat syndrome”.

This is covered by most health insurances. If interested, please call for appointment: 347-527-2257

The Food and Drug Administration is advising consumers not to purchase or use PAIN FLEX, a product promoted and sold for joint pain on various websites, including Amazon.com and possibly in some retail stores.

FDA laboratory analysis confirmed that PAIN FLEX contains dexamethasone and methocarbamol not listed on the product label.

Dexamethasone is a corticosteroid commonly used to treat inflammatory conditions. Corticosteroid use can impair a person’s ability to fight infections and can cause high blood sugar levels, muscle injuries and psychiatric problems. When corticosteroids are taken for a prolonged period or at high doses, they can suppress the adrenal gland. Abrupt discontinuation can cause withdrawal symptoms. Additionally, the undeclared dexamethasone may cause serious side effects when combined with other medications.

Methocarbamol is a muscle relaxant that can cause sedation, dizziness and low blood pressure. Methocarbamol also can impair mental and physical abilities to perform certain tasks, such as driving a motor vehicle or operating machinery.

Consumers taking PAIN FLEX should immediately consult with their health care professional to safely discontinue use of this product. The risks of withdrawal from corticosteroids should be assessed by a health care professional. Only licensed health care professionals can evaluate patients for the risk or existence of adrenal suppression.

Health care professionals and consumers should report adverse events or side effects related to the use of this product to FDA’s MedWatch Safety Information and Adverse Event Reporting Program:

Complete and submit the report online at MedWatch Online Voluntary Reporting Form, or
Download and complete the form, then submit it via fax at 1-800-FDA-0178.
This notification is to inform the public of products potentially marketed as dietary supplements or conventional foods with hidden drug ingredients and chemicals. These products are typically promoted for sexual enhancement, weight loss, pain relief and body building and are often represented as being all natural. Consumers should exercise caution before purchasing these products.

FDA is unable to test and identify all products marketed as dietary supplements that have potentially harmful hidden ingredients.

STOP THE FLU BEFORE IT STOPS YOU!

The best time to get your flu shot is in September or October.
Local health officials are urging the public to get their flu shots BEFORE THE END OF OCTOBER to stay protected during the peak flu season, as the vaccine takes around two weeks to ramp up and then lasts for around six months.

Who should get vaccinated?

Everyone 6 months and older: Annual flu vaccination is recommended for nearly everyone.

Groups at high risk: Vaccination is particularly important for people at higher risk of serious flu complications.

Children 6 months through 8 years: These children may need two doses of the flu vaccine, administered at least four weeks apart.
