This type of injury can be devastating, but improvements in technology over the years have really helped speed the recovery up after surgical repair.

Recovering from foot and ankle surgery can be a LONG and tedious process. Feet take a long time to heal for two main reasons:
1. It’s the furthest body part from the heart, so the last to get oxygen and nutrients from the blood
2. Gravity works against us. It’s difficult to keep your foot constantly elevated, so swelling can last for quite some time

It makes us happy when we see our post-op patients making the best of their recovery. I hope Ian’s friends and family enjoyed a good laugh with his neon pink cast!
