The farm is in trouble, and we feel that it's time to let you know....
While we are so grateful, thankful and blessed that the Lord chose us for this big adventure; over the last several months it has become evident that maybe He is moving us onto another one.
I can't say what the reason is myself, just trusting that He is not just closing our chapter here, but opening one for someone else.
When we came here we were just amazed at the beauty, and all of you that have seen it know why. It is absolutely stunning. The beyond gorgeous views, wildflowers, a constant flowing creek, the wildlife floating in and out... it was our pleasure to bring the majestic Scottish Highland cows to such a perfect setting. The story of the Burnfin family and the legacy of the previous farm, Bluebird Hollow, echoing in every sycamore tree, Crown of Thorns bush, wild orange tree, and river rock. My hope is that for the short time we are here is to bring the purpose of the property back, which was to proclaim the name of Jesus Christ.
I personally have a very close relationship with God, and I have given this property to Him to literally do whatever He wanted me to do with it. Past the farm services we offer, I have never gotten another answer on how to serve, and they just aren't producing the income needed. We tried to start weddings, but as a dry venue, you have no idea how many dead ends that brings. We have tried field trips, but apparently 4 billion times at an aquarium or zoo just isn’t enough times. We tried group events, I get that we aren't Dollywood, but why aren't beautiful animals enough without inflatables and roller coasters?
When guests come here I get asked almost every time, "how did you get started doing this?" I always just tell them the only thing I know to: "People ask if I'm living my dream, I tell them I'm living God's plan." That's the only way I can describe it. This was not me. This was not my husband, Jonathan. This was not my daughter, Skye. This was God.
That's why with all of these things coming to fruition, I can only come to the conclusion that this was God's plan too.
I am so undeserving that He chose me for it. That I was able to spend wonderful moments with fluffy animals, wonderful guests, and most of all my partner in all things farm/business related, my wonderful and talented daughter, Skye. As Dr. Seuss would say, "Oh the places we've been!"
The full farm will come for sale in about 2 weeks. If you are someone looking, if you know someone looking, please reach out. It is the perfect property for a business venture (as long as you don't care to serve alcohol🤣), a family or friend compound, the dream of a big or little farm that you can make your own... We have had guests from Finland to Lafayette, GA, and we know you Californians are paying the same for 1 acre, so no excuses there!
I feel like God is closing our chapter as of June. Not sure why... I just feel it. So please, listen next for what YOU can do!
1. Book an experience! We need you NOW more than ever! I have met so many recently that have waited since the beginning to come, and we desperately need you to come NOW! There will be Goodbye events coming soon as well, or meet us at one of our travel locations!
2. Consider buying one of our animals. We do have a waiting list, but if you have had your eye on a specific animal, now is the time to reach out. We will have a listing of the animals to go first thru last, but we want our animals to be LOVED, not just a financial transaction. Side note: these animals are of value. We know the beginning to end of every animal we have on the farm and will make sure you know that beginning to the end also. They will be priced fairly, without sentimental value, but please do not inquire until you do your research on what the market is. We have always been fair on pricing as a private farm that actually raises the animals we sell. Please don't hurt our feelings any more than what we are dealing with already.
3. Buy our property. Hurry up and the animals will already be here with it! There are dreams waiting on you at Blessing Creek Farms, and if you would like, our LLC and business plan is available as well. I'm sure Skye would even consider offering her services. It's not that we were unsuccessful, it's that we are out of time for the money to work any longer for a small family business.
I'm honestly out of words at this point. I'm not sure I'll ever be out of tears, but if you didn't start something, you never would have had your story to write.
We are beginning the campaign: Tips for Tears and leaving our venmo in the comments. Please know that this will likely not save the farm, but will help us to keep our animals as spoiled as ever until you get here... because you are coming, right??
Come! Please come! There are A LOT of others that have started their Highland farms, but they aren't us. We were the originals of this area and all of you have meant so much to us from farm visits, over 16k on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, etc.
Lastly, we want to say, THANK YOU! Ya'll truly are amazing and we are so BLESSED that you made us apart of your world.
