We have some exciting news! (Part 2) Meet our new intern, Zindzi Young!

Hi, I’m Zindzi Young! A graduating senior Music Therapy student at Howard University, and my primary instruments are voice and guitar, and also love playing the piano and west african instrument called kora. Music is so important to me because it’s how I heal, I can share my gift, and connect with other people from all walks of life, which is why music therapy deeply aligns with me and my future career. When I’m not in class, I’m either songwriting, producing music, practicing yoga, or spending time with my family. I’m so honored to apart of the Therabeat team and serve clients across Georgia and am excited to grow and learn as a music therapy intern!

We look forward to seeing Zindzi around the clinic in June! 🎶

We have some exciting news! (Part 1) Meet our new intern, Emma Fridell!

Hi! My name is Emma Fridell! I am from Soddy Daisy, Tennessee, and am currently a senior music therapy major at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. I have loved music for as long as I can remember, and I am so thankful to be pursuing a career in music therapy! I love helping others, and the fact that I can do so with music everyday in my career is a dream come true! In my free time, I love spending time with my family/friends/church family, studying the Bible, playing guitar, working on improving my cooking/baking skills, and doing arts and crafts! I have recently gotten into embroidery, and that has been really fun! I thank God for the blessing music therapy has been in my life, and I cannot wait to share its goodness with the precious clients at Therabeat!

We look forward to seeing Emma around the clinic in June! 🌼

Today we say see you later to our wonderful interns, Sally and Anna! 💕 They’ve completed their six-month internship with us and have graduated with a bachelor’s in music therapy. We are so proud of all the hard work they’ve done and wish them the best of luck as they prepare for their board exams and begin their careers. They will be so missed around the clinic 💕

Live music in a space that truly embodies inclusion ☕

Yesterday, our clients had the opportunity to perform at Circle of Friends at Flourish Café, a nonprofit coffee shop in Cherokee County that provides supportive employment and meaningful social opportunities for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

✨Thank you to Circle of Friends at Flourish Café for creating such a welcoming, inclusive space and for supporting opportunities like this. We’re so grateful to partner with organizations that truly live out their values!

Our recital this past weekend was nothing short of incredible! ❄️🎶

Every single performer shined on stage with confidence, creativity, and heart! We are so proud of the hard work they put in and the joy they shared through music.

Thank you to our families, friends, and team for cheering them on and making this event so special! We also extend a heartfelt thank you to Grace Community Church for allowing us to use their space for our special day.

Here’s to another beautiful year of growth, expression, and celebrating every voice. ❤️
