Join us for a Banned Books Week Read-In at Read Between The Lynes!

We’ve teamed up with Libro.fm and Silent Book Club of Woodstock IL to host a Read-In on October 5, 2025, from 2-3:30 p.m. in protest of censorship. Join us as we read and take action to fight book bans!

Attendees will receive a free audiobook copy of Lula Dean’s Little Library of Banned Books.

Have you seen Emily out and about in the community recently?
Last week was especially busy! She gave a lunch and learn to Family Health Partnership Clinic on Mindfulness and Meditation, hosted a book club on The Let Them Theory at Read Between The Lynes, and worked with McHenry Warriors football team to improve their mental performance!

Welcome Damaso Hodges, LCSW

Damaso is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 15 years of experience working in the mental health field. He utilizes an eclectic approach to the therapeutic relationship that is holistic, strengths-based, solution-focused, and client-centered. When requested, he incorporates faith and a Christian perspective in his sessions. Damaso values the therapeutic relationship and encourages the individual to guide the therapeutic process. He specializes in a range of mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, end-of-life, older adult issues, trauma, religious struggles/spiritual distress, religious trauma, and spiritual abuse.

Damaso holds graduate degrees in social work, sociology, and divinity. He is a Level II-Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional who has completed specialty training in religious trauma. He is trained in and utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Bilateral/Binaural Stimulation. He is also a college educator who teaches coursework on gender and sexuality, race and ethnicity, marriage and family, deviance, and ethics.
